The story

The Ukrainian Film Festival in Los Angeles was born in 2025 from a simple idea: Ukrainian stories deserve to be seen on the big screen — in the city that tells stories to the whole world.

Three Ukrainian organizations of Los Angeles — UNWLA Branch 111, the Ukrainian Art Center and the Ukrainian Culture Center — joined forces to bring the best of contemporary Ukrainian cinema to American audiences. The first festival, Cinema of Resilience, showed that people were ready to listen.

In 2026 we return with Frames of Freedom: two days of feature films and documentaries, meetings with filmmakers, and a community that believes culture is one of the strongest ways to stand with Ukraine.
